The 2021 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction just happened this past Saturday, and many familiar faces were there! From Taylor Swift kicking off the night, to LL Cool J and Jennifer Lopez performing together, the evening was filled with some delightful surprises! Just in case you missed it, here is a recap of all that happened during the night! ๐คฉ
Kicking off the evening was Taylor Swift singing a synth-pop version of โWill You Love Me Tomorrowโ written by Carole King. Fans are all desperately waiting for Taylor to announce when she is going on tour again, but let us tell you, her performance skills are not impaired! Rather she stunned the crowd and even Carole King herself, leaving King in tears! Did we also mention how everyone on the internet is screaming about Taylor Swiftโs outfit?! She definitely did not disappoint! ๐
Jennifer Hudson, who just recently played Aretha Franklin in the biopic Respect, made an appearance on the stage and belted โ(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman," which as well was written by Carole King. If you are unsure of who Carole King is and why she is so important, no worries! In a quick synopsis, Carole King is a songwriter who has written some of the most influential songs to date. She has written over 400 songs and they have been cut by more than 1,000 artists! It is no wonder she is being honored at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! ๐ฅณ
Continuing on into the night, Dr. Dre came to the stage to pay tribute to this new inductee, who interestingly enough was nominated six times before even making it into the hall of fame: LL Cool J! Dr. Dre made it well known that LL is the official G.O.A.T of all timeโฆ And did we mention that he performed with Eminem and Jennifer Lopez?! After his acceptance of being inducted, LL performed his hit single โGoing Back to Cali," and then brought out Eminem to perform โRock the Bellsโ LL continued surprising fans by bringing out Jenny from the Block, Jennifer Lopez, to perform his song โAll I Have," which weโve got to say is a collab on stage that weโve been wanting to see! ๐
Tina Turner was celebrated during the night by performers Christina Aguilera singing a cover of โRiver Deep, Mountain High,'' and H.E.R. and Keith Urban collaborating on the song โItโs Only Love." Though Tina wasnโt there in person that night, she did send in a short video speech thanking everyone for the love of being honored that evening! ๐
Another inductee into the Hall of Fame that night was rapper Jay-Z, who might have gotten the best introduction video any artist has received. A-list celebrities were spotted in the video, including President Obama, Jamie Fox, Rihanna, Chris Martin, Beyonce, and more! Jay-Z definitely felt the love that evening with all his closest friends and supporters by his side celebrating his victory of being welcomed into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! ๐ค
To round out the night was Paul McCartney inducting the Foo Fighters into the Hall of Fame, with a touching speech about the love each band has for music. Before McCartney made his speech, the Foo Fighters ripped through their hit songs โBest of You,โ โMy Hero,โ and โEverlong;" it was almost like you were at a mini Foo Fighters concert! It was afterwards when McCartney shared his moving speech, with of course some jokes intertwined in between, about his similar story of joining a band and taking the world by storm. The grand finale was with the Foo Fighters teaming up with Paul McCartney in performing the Beatles song โGet Back!" This was McCartneyโs first time performing live in a very long time, making the moment even more special and memorable! โค๏ธโ๐ฅ
The 2021 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was a magical night and we are so happy for all the new inductees! These artists have changed the course of history for artists today. We thank them and look up to them for all that they have done! Who are some of your favorite rock and roll artists? ๐ค
