It’s all happening. After months of waiting and theorizing, Harry Styles finally announced his much-anticipated third album! While we wait impatiently for Harry’s House to come out on May 20th, let’s take a look back at the last several months and see just what led up to fans receiving news of this release! 🎉

If we look back at Harry’s Love on Tour, there were multiple occasions of him saying, “Are you ready to take it home?” or “Send me home!” He also portrayed a beautiful Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz for Halloween–which features the famous line, “There’s no place like home.” Though we didn’t realize it at the time, we now look back and see that these were the earliest hints at Harry’s House! This brought further speculation when his European tour was shown to feature pits named “Hallway,” “Bedroom,” and “Kitchen.” It was at this point fans knew something was up…🤔

Shortly after, a photo of a casting call was posted, saying they were looking for people to be in a video titled, “Duvet.” While the casting call did not specifically say it was for Harry, superfans pieced together theories that were only made stronger when Harry was spotted filming a video in a bed in London. Images of Harry in adorable spotted pajamas in a comfy-looking bed began circulating in mid-February. This heightened fans’ senses and had everybody on high alert, wondering if this could be for a music video. With no updates on that since, we will just have to wait and see! 🛏

Fast forward to mid-March. Picture this: You pick up a newspaper and see an ad of artwork of an upside down lamp. Below it is written “youarehome.co”. You call to inquire about this peculiar ad, but you are told it does not exist. Something is not adding up. This sent fans into a frenzy. Three ads, an upside-down vase, lamp, and door were circulating around Twitter and in select newspapers. If fans followed the link to the website, they were greeted with a cream-colored door. This was puzzling, yet intriguing. Then, on March 19th, the door opened. 🚪

On the first day, the door opened to what looked like a sunflower stalk. Following that, each day was something different. We got a pink/purple/blue color gradient, an upside-down Earth, and then a puzzle of various mushrooms on March 20th, 21st, and 22nd respectively. In trying to piece together what this could mean, a few theories arose. First, people believed the photos to be book covers. The sunflower stalk could be related back to Nature and Selected Essays by Ralph Waldo Emerson, and the color gradient to that of book covers by Haruki Marakami (one of Harry’s favorite authors). It was at this point that some fans said that maybe Harry was trying to spell “You Are Home” or “Welcome” backwards, using the first letter of each author’s last name. The photo of the earth threw people off a bit, but people thought maybe it was supposed to be the letter “O”, which would keep this theory on track. The artist behind the mushroom puzzle’s last name is Cavallini, which backed the idea that Harry could be spelling the word “welcome” in a unique format. ✨

The most recent fan frenzy was a few days ago when an image surfaced with the name and date of the album. Of course, this had to be taken with a grain of salt, though people argued that this image was credible. We now know that it was, in fact, the correct information after Harry confirmed via social media at 12:00pm EST on Wednesday, March 23rd! Harry posted a photo of himself in an upside down room with the caption simply saying, “Harry’s House. May 20th.” Quickly, his profile picture was also updated, as well as his Twitter header to feature the new album cover, which was the picture he had posted, and it showcases the new font for this era! 🥰

A video was also posted to Harry Styles’ YouTube channel that is the official teaser for this album. It is a beautiful video and features Harry standing on a stage as a house set is pulled up around him. However, fans were quick to notice distorted music playing in the background. When the video is played in reverse, fans believe it also reveals a snippet of the first single!! It seems that this is the way the video is intended to be watched, and of course, the seemingly all-knowing Harry fans figured it out! 🎶

It has been a wild ride trying to figure out details about the long-awaited HS3 album, and we are OBSESSED with it being called Harry’s House! With Harry’s recent Pleasing drop featuring bright colors and visuals, we can’t help but wonder if Harry’s House could be more of a psychedelic rock album! Whatever Harry has in store for us, we are BEYOND excited for new music from our favorite green-eyed British icon. Though it feels like this may be the longest two months ever, we already know it will be so worth the wait! 😍
