Lizzo is back and taking the world by storm! With lots on the horizon, summer 2022 will definitely belong to her! With the premiere of her new show on March 25th, Lizzo was starting the spring and summer season off with a bang! But, little did we know that this was only the beginning of what Lizzo had in store for us! ❤️🔥
Lizzo’s Amazon Prime show, “Watch Out For The Big Grrrls” features the singer and her search to find backup dancers that reflect her body type and empower people of all walks of life! This show empowers women to love themselves and preaches body positivity. We love that Lizzo is always encouraging those around her to be themselves, and her new music is no exception to this! This is reflected in Lizzo’s new self-proclaimed “song of the summer,” “About Damn Time.” This upbeat single is all about overcoming stress and hardships and feeling like yourself again. It is a reminder that no matter what life throws at you, you are strong and beautiful just the way you are! 😍
Lizzo performed “About Damn Time” for the first time on Saturday Night Live on April 16th. Fulfilling the duties of both the host and the musical guest, she made the power move of being the first woman to introduce herself as the performer, saying, “Ladies and gentlemen, me!” We are obsessed with her confidence, and she is only the second artist ever to do this! (A nod to Chance the Rapper who was seemingly the first.) She was not only amazing in each skit that she delivered, but she absolutely SERVED in her performance! She gave a jaw-dropping show and introduced the world to her upcoming album’s title track, “Special.” This soul-influenced ballad spreads messages of acceptance and appreciation for everybody, whether or not they feel it. With a taste of this album that will be out on July 15th, anticipation among fans is high! 🌟
Apart from music, Lizzo has launched her own shapewear brand called Yitty. She shared that this brand has been in the making for a while, and it caters to every size and body type. From XS to 6X, she says that she wants everybody to feel confident in their skin and love themselves no matter what they look like. This brand was launched in partnership with Fabletics and has stated that her goal in this is to, “enhance rather than flatten” women’s features. Lizzo’s proactivity in promoting body positivity and spreading the message of, “don’t judge a book by its cover” is inspirational and just one of the many reasons we love her! 💜
Jaws around the world hit the floor when Lizzo made a surprise appearance at Coachella this past weekend! Joining our favorite heartthrob, Harry Styles, onstage for his weekend two performance, she brought the heat! Dawning stunning, matching jackets, the duo delivered BREATHTAKING performances of “I Will Survive” and “What Makes You Beautiful.” Their onstage chemistry is unmatched, and they truly started off weekend two with a bang! 💕
Less than 72 hours after her incredible performance with “H” at Coachella, Lizzo announced her fall 2022 tour! This tour will feature stops in arenas all across North America - from Madison Square Garden to the Los Angeles Kia Forum! Set to start on September 23rd in Sunrise, FL, the tour runs through to November 18th! We are so excited for this queen, and we know we will be buying tickets! They go on-sale Friday, April 29th, at 10 am local time! 👑
From a new show to a new album, Lizzo has so much on the horizon! We are so thrilled for all of the new content and excitement that will come this summer. Looking back on all of her success, there is no telling how far she will go! 🥰
