This week we are so excited to talk about one of our favorite Camp Rockers… Demi Lovato!! We wanted to highlight our talented Demi this week because we are so proud of the journey they are on, and we can’t wait to hear their new music! 💘
If you’re like us, you first fell in love with Demi in 2008 when they starred in Disney’s Camp Rock alongside the Jonas Brothers! We can still remember the words to this soundtrack! With songs like “This is Me” and “Who Will I Be,” it soon became a Disney classic. This movie helped shoot Demi into music stardom! They then went on to star in Disney Channel’s Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam, Sonny With a Chance, and Princess Protection Program. 🎥
In 2008, Demi began to pursue their solo music career with the release of their first album, Don’t Forget, and it debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 chart! The next year, their album Here We Go Again debuted at number one! 🤩
But the best was yet to come! Demi released their third album, Unbroken, and once again broke records! This album included one of our favorite Demi songs, “Give Your Heart a Break!” This song would become a platinum single as it sold over 2 million copies by 2014! 🏆
When Demi wasn’t recording hit songs or playing sold out tours, they were busy with filming! They were a judge on the second and third seasons of the X-Factor alongside Britney Spears, and Simon Cowell. They also appeared in the fifth season of the hit musical show, Glee! 🎭
Since then, Demi has been releasing hit after hit. Their album, Confident, went platinum in 2019! We all remember driving with our windows down and belting their song “Cool For the Summer” from this album all summer long! ☀️
Fast forward to 2021, and Demi is still allowing fans to see their true self. They released a four-part documentary on YouTube in March called Demi Lovato: Dancing with the Devil. This documentary gave us an inside look at what their life and musical journey have been like over the past few years. ✨
The docuseries focuses on their journey
back from their relapse in 2018, and how they have recovered and healed. Demi is honest when they talk about their overdose, their struggle with mental health, their ex-fiance, their road to recovery, and we are so proud of how far they have come. It is amazing to have artists like Demi speak openly and honestly about what they are struggling with. As fans of their awesome career, we will always be here for them! 🖤
Along with the docuseries, Demi announced that it would be followed by their seventh album, Dancing with the Devil…The Art of Starting Over! What an amazing surprise! Demi describes this new album as a “non-official soundtrack” to the documentary, and we are so here for it. Demi is a warrior, and they are always working towards their best self, while also giving fans some of the best music out there! 💞
This album is set to be released on April 2nd, and it will feature some of our other favorite artists like Ariana Grande, Noah Cyrus, and Saweetie! Demi released the first track, “Dancing with the Devil,” at the end of March, and we LOVE IT! 😍
We CAN’T WAIT to hear all that Demi has in store for us on this new album! They have inspired us so much, and we are so proud of their journey! 💜
