New Artist Eras: Lorde, Ed Sheeran, Meg Thee Stallion, and more! 💜

With summer starting to ramp up , it’s safe to say that the music industry is heating up as well! Several of our favorite artists have recently announced that they’re about to release new music for the first time in years! From Lorde all the way to Maroon 5, this summer is bound to be amazing with all the releases these artists have planned.

We are so excited to share a bit more about the new artist eras to keep an eye out for! 🎶

On June 7th, music producer and Bleachers’ lead singer, Jack Antonoff, posted a picture on Instagram that caused Lorde fans to freak out - in the best way possible. The picture he posted of Lorde leaping on the beach with the title “Solar Power” had fans excited for the possibility of new music!

Jack, who previously produced Lorde’s sophomore album, Melodrama, did not give any information about what the post meant. However, only 3 days later, Lorde released her new song “Solar Power!” It’s only been a week, and the song already has 13 million streams!! Fans have been LOVING this new song and can’t wait to see the music she will hopefully release following this single! Considering this is Lorde’s first release in four years, it’s safe to say we are all eager to see what’s coming next! 💛

One artist you might not realize hasn’t released a new single or album in a while is Ed Sheeran. Although he released the song “Afterglow” in December, it was a stand alone song and not a single off of an album. Before “Afterglow,” Ed’s last release was his collaboration album, No.6 Collaborations Project.

Last week, Ed posted a photo to his Instagram of himself with the caption, “The moment when you realise your first solo single in 4 years is coming out in a few weeks.” Understandably, this post received thousands of comments and over a million likes! The next day, he teased his new song “Bad Habits” on Instagram by posting a snippet of the new song! He even showed himself dressed up as a vampire, which fans are presuming is a look that’s going to be featured in the music video for the song!

We can’t wait to hear how this song turns out and see where this new era takes Ed!!! “Bad Habits” is out June 25th! ✨

The next artist we are excited to feature is none other than Megan Thee Stallion! Previous to her album Suga, which sent Megan straight into the limelight (and the Billboard Charts), Megan released an album in 2018 called Tina Snow. Tina Snow is not just an album title, but also Megan’s self-proclaimed alter-ego. Because of this, fans were taken by surprise when Megan posted a video on Instagram captioned, “I'M BACK HOTTIES! ADDRESS ME AS MS. SNOW.”

The video’s main color scheme was black, white, and blue, which also happen to be the colors featured

on the cover of her album Tina Snow. The video was

a teaser for her new song and music video,

“Thot S***” which is out now!!!

This era is already so exciting and has fans curious to see what else happens during the era of the return of Tina Snow! 💙

Jessie J is another artist who is entering a new season of her career in full force! After deleting all her previous Instagram posts, Jessie J posted a picture on Instagram on June 2nd with the caption, “Breakin’ all our New Year's resolutions!”

Fans really hoped this was a new song lyric, since she hadn’t released any music since 2019. Luckily, the fans were correct!! On June 4th, Jessie posted the details about her new song “I Want Love”

saying, “I’m back!”

This new song “I Want Love,” was released on June 11th and is a dreamy, disco-pop bop that's already won our hearts!! The lyric video for the song completely fits her new aesthetic, and we are hopeful that a new album will be released soon! We’re waiting for that announcement any day now, Jessie!! 💥

The last artist we want to feature is Maroon 5. Maroon 5 is a band that’s been around for awhile, giving us the amazing hit songs like “She Will Be Loved,” “Sugar,” “Payphone,” “Maps,” “Girls Like You,” and so many more! Their last album, Red Blue Pills, came out in 2017. So of course, we were all excited when they announced their new album, Jordi, which came out on June 11th! Jordi is named after their late manager, Jordan Feldstien, who unfortunately passed away in 2017. The tribute album features artists like H.E.R., Nipsey Hussle, Juice WRLD, Jason Derulo, Stevie Nicks, Megan Thee Stallion, and more!!

The album is fun, catchy, and full of pure pop bliss. Personally, we can’t get enough of the song “Beautiful Mistakes,” featuring Megan Thee Stallion!! Every era of Maroon 5 has been iconic, and it’s safe to say that this one already is as well! 😍

Which era are you looking forward to the most?? With all these new releases coming up, it’s hard to pick a favorite. We just hope this summer of new music continues, especially after not having many releases happen over the last year. For now, it’s time to start planning tours, concerts, and listening parties! We are so excited to get back into the swing of everything normal in the music world! 💜
