Olivia Rodrigo Brings it Home with New Documentary, "driving home 2 u" 💜

Olivia Rodrigo continues to show that she is a woman of many talents. Between riding the wave of her chart-topping debut album, SOUR, and announcing her first headlining tour, Olivia is gracing our TV screens for the first time since High School Musical: The Musical: The Series! Olivia’s brand new documentary driving home 2 u premiered on Disney+ last Friday, and features the process of creating SOUR. Let’s take a look back at everything that led this talented young woman to this exciting new release! 🤩

Making her television debut in several commercials, Olivia first landed a role in Disney Channel’s Bizaardvark in 2016. We first saw her musical talents come to life in 2019 when she began starring in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. Her authenticity and charisma captured the hearts of viewers, and we were amazed by her musical abilities! We had “All I Want” on repeat and could not wait to see more of this vivacious young woman! 💗

In January 2021, Olivia single-handedly stopped the world with the release of her single, “driver’s license.” The mixture of raw emotion, incredibly vivid lyrics and beautiful vocals sent this song straight to the top of the charts. She followed this up with “deja vu” about three months later, which debuted at number eight in the Hot 100 and shortly climbed to number one. By this point, Olivia had grown quite a following of fans eager to hear more from her. She did not disappoint, giving us “good 4 u” just a short six weeks after. Fans LOVED this single, sending it to number one on the charts – Olivia’s third number one single, and she did not even have an album on the horizon! Fans' wishes came true on April 13th, 2021 when Olivia announced that she would be releasing her debut album, SOUR, on May 21st, 2021. SOUR features a beautifully told story of heartbreak and learning to love as a young woman. This album skyrocketed Olivia’s career even higher, and the world stood still, waiting for her next move. 🚀

In December of 2021, Olivia made many dreams come true when she announced her SOUR TOUR, which will take place this spring into the summer and span across North America and Europe. Reportedly, this 48-show theater tour sold out in a remarkable 3 minutes! With a rapidly growing fanbase, fans question why she is not playing arenas or amphitheaters. Olivia sweetly answered by saying she did not want to “skip any steps” in the live performance process, wanting to do theaters before bigger venues! We can’t wait to see Olivia rock

Apart from her musical and television achievements, Olivia has many other incredible achievements under her belt! In February, Olivia was named Billboard’s Woman of the Year, an incredible honor which she accepted earlier this month. Prior to this, she was featured on the cover of Billboard magazine which included an incredible spread of photos of Olivia. She has won three VMAs, two People's Choice Awards, a Brit Award, and is currently nominated for seven Grammys, achieving the milestone of being the 13th musician to be nominated for each of the “Big Four” categories. On top of these milestones, she also had the honor of visiting the White House last summer! She is quite the talented individual, and she continues to hit milestones in her career every day! ⭐️

All roads have led to Olivia’s much-anticipated documentary, driving home 2 u. This film recounts the creation of her debut album in an honest, captivating fashion that really brings the viewer along for the ride. We get to see her songs performed like never before in very intentional settings, with “happier” being set in an empty house containing many boxes and “enough for you” being sung in a forest. Olivia’s vulnerability is admirable, and it is a gift to be able to see her passion and creativity come to life in the form of this incredible debut album. 🥰

Olivia Rodrigo is a global sensation, and we are so proud of her for how far she has come! With her tour starting in Europe in June, we cannot wait to see her crush it!
