Have you been getting deja vu recently seeing everyone post about Olivia Rodrigo? At With the Band, we are SO EXCITED about how Olivia’s career is taking off! This talented 18-year-old is taking 2021 by storm, and we can’t wait to see how the rest of the year goes for this gifted, young superstar! ⚡️

Olivia first caught people’s attention after starring in the Disney+ show, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series! The show kicked off its first season in November 2019 and continued into 2020. Piggybacking off that great introduction to her musical

talents, Olivia dove head first into 2021 by releasing her own music! After her first single, “drivers license,” blew up all over social media and on the billboard charts, Olivia released yet another hit, “deja vu,” which we can’t get enough of!!! 😍

Then, as a surprise for her fans, Olivia announced in April that her debut album, SOUR, will be coming out May 21st, WHICH IS TOMORROW!!! SOUR will feature her songs “drivers license,” “deja vu” and her most recent release, “good for u!” Get ready to stay up all night listening! 🖤

good 4 u” was only released last week, and it’s been gaining a lot of attention. The song has already been used in over 138 thousand TikTok videos, the music video has been viewed over 32 million times, and the song has been streamed over 33 million times on Spotify. All we can say is WOW! “good 4 u” is definitely

different from her other two releases

because it features pop/rock instrumentals reminiscent of early 2000’s pop/rock music. Several people are even comparing it to Paramore’s hit song, “Misery Business!” She’s only three singles in, but Olivia is already showing her range and making her fans even MORE excited for her album release!! 🎶

The popularity of “good 4 u” continued to skyrocket after Olivia performed it on Saturday Night Live on May 15th! As the musical guest, Olivia also sang “drivers license.” This song had previously been used in a skit featuring Regé-Jean Page on February 20th, so for Olivia to now

make her SNL debut and perform this song was a huge deal!! Viewers quickly went to Twitter and TikTok to talk about how amazing her performance was. Olivia is now the youngest female solo musical guest in SNL history!!! 🎉

Olivia often credits Taylor Swift as being her idol in the music industry, and just like Taylor, Olivia is seeing a ton of success at such a young age. It’s no surprise then that when she performed at the BRIT Awards last week (talk about busy), she wrote a letter to give to Taylor, who was also at the award show. 🏆

Taylor and Olivia then snapped a pic together, which both of them posted to their Instagrams! During the show, Olivia wowed everyone with a stripped-back rendition of “drivers license,” which was also her first live performance of the song on TV! 👏

It’s not just TV where Olivia is seeing success recently though - she’s also been on the cover of not one, but TWO famous magazines this week! Olivia was featured on the front cover of Billboard Magazine on May 15th, with the catchy phrase “License to Thrive'' splashed across the bottom of the page. Then on the 17th, Olivia announced on her Instagram that she will also be the cover girl for the next edition of NME Magazine! This year has been FULL of huge milestones for Olivia and her career, and all we can say is that we are so proud of her and so excited to see what’s to come! 😊
