2020 got you feeling down? Selena Gomez is here to lift you up! While quarantine has slowed things down for most of the entertainment industry, Selena has been busier than ever. With a new album released earlier this year, singles rising in the charts, and ventures in beauty, TV, and film, Selena is giving us what 👏🏻 we 👏🏻 neeeeed! 👏🏻
In January of this year, Selena’s album Rare was released, and this was only the beginning! The deluxe album was soon to follow and featured three extra songs “Souvenir,” becoming a fan favorite. The nostalgic and romantic lyrics mixed with the electro-pop vibe created a song that we have on repeat! The lead single was also one that fans couldn’t get enough of with “Lose You to Love Me” earning Selena her first Hot 100 No. 1 in her career. She then went on to work with Trevor Daniel for the song “Past Life,” which landed in the Billboard top 40.
Selena still had more in store for us as it was announced that she will be returning to scripted TV in the Only Murders in the Building comedy series. If that wasn’t enough to keep fans going, she also has been working as an executive producer for an upcoming feel good film directed by her Wizards of Waverly Place co-star David Henrie. Get ready to be in the kitchen with Selena too! She also just started a cooking show called “Selena and Chef” on HBOmax! This at-home show will feature Selena being virtually guided by a professional chef in an attempt to improve her self claimed sub-par cooking skills. 👩🏻🍳
AND we still have more to look forward to. Selena’s makeup line Rare Beauty will be released with Sephora on September 3rd! We are SO excited to see some fan inspired make-up creations! Last but absolutelyyyy not least, Selena is releasing a song with K-Pop girl group Blackpink! Teaser posters have us preparing for the song to drop on August 28th! Get ready for SELPINK!! 💕
