Happy Birthday, Shawn Mendes

I attended a Shawn Mendes show in Saint Paul, Minnesota earlier this year and it got me inspired to start a fan project for my next concert I was attending in Pittsburgh a little over a month later. While none of the projects went as planned, something even better came out of it. I met people who I’ve become close with through the planning process and I foresee many more adventures with them in the future. The energy in the crowd was so intense that I had to stand still do a 360 degree turn and take it all in. There was lots of love for Mr. Shawn Mendes as we quickly approached his 21st birthday, the reason behind the attempted fan projects. We were able to pull off singing happy birthday to Shawn during his pre-show q&a session and the smile on his face was contagious and set the tone for the whole evening. It was a show full of great music, great energy, and even greater people.

I’ve been a fan of Shawn’s since the very beginning with the vines and YouTube covers. I don’t have a heartwarming story to tell like many others, mine is full of smiles and laughter. It feels like we’ve grown up together over the years. His music was and is my escape from life. As of now, I’ve seen him live 4 times, and each time I fall more and more in love with his music and the joy it brings me. He has this contagious positive loving energy that keeps me and thousands coming back album after album. He knows his way around a guitar and doesn’t shy away from impressive vocals. He keeps impressing crowds making him an irresistible performer you keep going back to.
